Bahraini growth may reach 4% in 2012

Davos: Bahrain’s economic growth is accelerating and is expected to reach 3 per cent to 4 per cent this year, said Shaikh Mohammad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of the Economic Development Board.

Shaikh Mohammad, who spoke in Davos at the World Economic Forum yesterday, said he expected a better year for Bahrain.

The central bank had forecast growth of 5 per cent for 2011, but revised this down by two percentage points due to unrest.
